What staying here is actually like

This is the quieter side of Marbella, and the beach is the reason to be here. Three golf courses sit within minutes, the town is a ten-minute drive, and the Puerto Banús end of the coast is far enough away that the evenings stay calm unless you choose otherwise.

The two halves of the area feel different. Down on the Playa side you are at the sand. Up in Altos you are looking at it, with Africa on the horizon on a clear day, and you drive down.

The houses we have here

Two. Villa Sundown is four bedrooms for eight, up in the hills, with an infinity pool and the sea view toward Africa that the area is known for. Villa Nordica is six bedrooms for twelve, built around an overflow infinity pool and the garden rather than a view.

Four to twelve people, in other words, which covers most families and most groups of couples.

Who it suits

Families who will use the beach every day. Groups who want to be near Marbella without being in it. Golfers, because the courses are genuinely close.

If you want the widest beaches and the chiringuitos, keep going east to Elviria. If you want the old town on foot, Río Real is the closer compromise.
