What staying here is actually like
San Pedro is a town rather than an urbanisation, which changes the week more than people expect. There is a working high street, a boulevard, and restaurants that are full of locals in February as well as August.
It is minutes west of Puerto Banús, so the port is there when you want it, and the land is flat, so children on bikes and anyone who dislikes hill driving both do better here than up in the hills.

Who it suits
Groups of eight or ten who want outdoor space. Families with young children. Anyone staying a fortnight, where value per night adds up.
If you want to be inside the Marbella bubble, the Golden Mile or Nueva Andalucía is the trade. For something bigger still, Benahavís.
